What is a mending circle?

A regular, informal gathering of people who come together to sew, knit, mend and repair clothing or other textiles. Mending Circle is a safe space to connect with your community.

What are the benefits?

Repaired clothing! Learning new skills! Teaching skills! Dedicated time to sew and mend! Community building and connections!

Do I have to know how to sew to come?

Everyone is welcome. Volunteer instructors from the community can help you with your repair questions and teach you how to make repairs yourself. Mending Circle is not a drop off repair center, but a place for folks to come together to sew and learn.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring your own projects and materials. Common sewing tools like needles, scissors, crochet hooks, threaders, etc may be available for shared use. Machines are welcome. An shared iron and ironing board will be available for use.

Group will need to clean up any mess at the meeting.

How can I get involved?

Fill out the form and let us know how you want to get involved! You can just come to sew and learn, or we are looking for Coordinators, Teachers, Translators to help.
